Couponing has a language of it's own...it truly does! 
It can get a little overwhelming keeping up with all the abbreviations and meanings so I've compiled a list of the most commonly used abbreviations you may come across on coupon blogs and forums


  • Albies/Alby's: Albertson's
  • B1G1: Buy one get one free
  • B1G2: Buy one get two free
  • B2G1: Buy two get one free
  • B & M: Brick & Mortar (in-store, not online)
  • BOGO: Buy one get one free
  • Blinkie: coupon that comes out of the coupon machine located by a product in the store
  • BRU: Babies R Us
  • CAT: catalina coupon (can be a store/manufacturer coupon) that prints at the register that can be used on your next purchase
  • CRT: cash register tape 
  • DG: Dollar General 
  • DND: Do Not Double
  • ECB: extra care buck (CVS money)
  • EQ: e-coupon (digital coupon)
  • ETS/ETTS:  Excludes Trial Size, Excludes Travel/Trial Size
  • F & E: Fresh and Easy (grocery store)
  • FB: Facebook
  • GM: general mills
  • IP: internet printable coupon
  • IDSO/ISO: in dire search of or in search of (usually used when wanting to trade coupons)
  • IVC: instant value coupon (coupon found in Walgreens)
  • IWG: instant win game
  • MFR: manufacturer
  • MIR: mail in rebate
  • MM: money maker
  • MV: Max Value
  • NCR: not coupon related
  • NLA: no longer available
  • ONYO: on your next purchase
  • OOP: out of pocket
  • OOS: out of stock
  • P & G: Procter & Gamble
  • Peelie: coupon found attached to a product 
  • PM: price match
  • Q: coupon
  • RAOK: random act of kindness
  • RC: rain check
  • RP: red plum (coupon insert)
  • RR: register reward (walgreens money)
  • SASE: Self Addressed Stamped Envelope
  • SS: smart source (coupon insert)
  • SW: Safeway (grocery store)
  • TCP: The Children's Place
  • TP: tear pad coupon
  • TRU: Toys R Us
  • Wags: Walgreens
  • Wally's: Walmart
  • WYB: when you buy
  • YMMV: your mileage may vary (it depends on your store/cashier)
